Stakeholder management

Multiple players are active in every lobby: policymakers, regulators, industry associations, NGOs and sometimes even unexpected allies or opponents. Anyone who wants to make an impact in Brussels must understand this force field and approach it strategically.

Castro EU helps organizations effectively map and purposefully engage their stakeholders. We analyze who has influence, how it relates to your goals, and which relationships are crucial to achieving results. We distinguish who you should inform, convince, activate or leave alone.

We develop clear strategies that fit your ambitions and also support in implementation: from one-on-one conversations with policymakers to building coalitions and from analyzing stakeholder interests to leveraging crucial policy moments.

Our approach is strategic, pragmatic and always focused on results. For us, stakeholder management is not a checklist, but a dynamic process that requires attention, direction and the ability to move at the right time. And that is exactly where we make the difference.

Would you like to know how Castro EU can strengthen your position within the stakeholder landscape? We'd love to think with you and engage with you.

Stakeholder engagement

Informing stakeholders is not enough. You need to involve them: actively, timely and in a way that suits their interests and influence. Especially in Brussels, where decision-making is often slow and fragmented.

Castro EU helps organizations map out who you need, what drives them and how to get them moving. We do that with targeted actions that fit your content and goals. Our approach is direct, well thought-out and result-oriented. No separate actions, but an integrated strategy that strengthens your position, both inside and outside Brussels.

Want to know how we use stakeholder engagement to accelerate your goals? We'd love to show you.

Case study: 100 days in Brussels: how do new MEPs land?

How do newly elected MEPs land in Brussels? What stands out, what works differently than expected, and how do they keep the connection with the Netherlands alive? Together with Johnson & Johnson, Castro EU organized a meeting at the Holland House Brussels on September 12, 2024 around these questions.

In a packed hall, three new MEPs: Anouk van Brug (VVD/Renew Europe), Brigitte van den Berg (D66/Renew Europe) and Jessika van Leeuwen (BBB/EPP) interacted with each other and the audience. Led by Stefan de Bruijn and Koen Venekamp, they shared their initial experiences, insights and priorities. How is cooperation within their groups going? Where are opportunities to exert influence? And how do they remain approachable for Dutch interests?

For the organizations present, ranging from representatives from various sectors such as healthcare, industry and knowledge, this was an excellent opportunity to engage in early conversation with new MEPs. Approachable, substantive and in a setting that invited real interaction.

Stakeholder engagement is crucial around specific dossiers, but certainly also in general. Castro is the party that, together with diverse companies, actively connects and keeps the Dutch stakeholder community in Brussels moving.
