Communication advice & strategies

Brussels is often about content, but without the right communication, even the best message remains under the radar.

Castro EU helps organizations use communications as an extension of their lobbying and advocacy efforts. We develop strategies that fit not only your content, but also the force field in which you operate, from policymakers and media to stakeholders and the public.

We start at the core: what do you want to achieve, who do you need to reach and how do you make sure your story sticks? On that basis, we formulate clear core messages, choose the right channels and determine the best timing. Not from the sender's point of view, but from the receiver's.

Our approach is strategic and practical. We think along about positioning, reputation, campaigns or spokesmanship and also help with implementation. Because a good communication strategy is not a report, but a working system that gives direction to everything you say, do and show.

Want to know how we take your communications to a strategic level? Castro EU thinks and works with you.

Media monitoring

In the political playing field of Brussels, it is not only what is said that counts, but also where, by whom and at what time. Media can influence the course of the debate, build pressure or create space. It is therefore crucial to have insight into how your organization, theme or sector is being discussed, in Brussels, The Hague and beyond.

Castro EU offers media monitoring that goes beyond standard reporting. We track national media, international media and relevant trade publications and filter what matters. Not bulk, but targeted insight linked to your strategic goals.

We help you recognize trends, interpret sentiment and understand momentum. We do this in reputation issues, during campaigns, in the run-up to policy moments or in crisis situations in which timing and tone are all-important.

Our monitoring connects seamlessly to your communications strategy or lobbying goals. So you not only know what's going on in the media, but also how to act on it.

Want to know more about how we use media monitoring as a strategic tool? We'd love to show you.

Message training

A good story is only effective if it is well conveyed. In Brussels and beyond, the more complex the content, the more important the way you tell it.

Castro EU offers message training to get your message across clearly, persuasively and strategically. Whether it's a press interview, a public appearance, or a sharp debate: preparation makes the difference between control and damage.

We train spokespersons, administrators, policy makers and experts on the cutting edge. Focused on your content, your role and the force field in which you operate. Do not expect a standard training, but a customized intensive session, including critical questions, realistic scenarios and honest feedback.

You learn not only how to stand firm, but also how to keep direction. What you do say and what you deliberately leave out. How to turn sharp questions into space for your message. And above all: how to tell your story with confidence, your way, with maximum impact.

Want to know if our message training can strengthen you or your team? We are happy to think with you about an approach that fits your role and reality.

Campaigns

Lobbying has long since ceased to work only behind the scenes. Especially in Brussels, visibility is often the difference between being heard or ignored. A campaign is then not an afterthought, but a strategic tool to attract attention, build pressure and position your message convincingly.

Castro EU develops and realizes campaigns that resonate politically. No loose slogans or media placements, but thoughtful actions that match your content and purpose. We help you formulate your message sharply, identify the right target groups and choose a creative approach that stays with you, whether in the media or in the heart of the policy bubble.

Our strength lies in the combination of content, strategy and execution. We switch quickly, think from the point of view of influence and work with short lines. From a digital mobilization to a targeted campaign around a policy moment or publication: we make sure your message stands out where it matters.

Want to know more about how we can activate your story towards Brussels and beyond? We'd love to show you what's possible.

Crisis Management

A crisis rarely announces itself neatly, but you can be prepared for it. Castro EU helps organizations stay in control when the pressure mounts. We think scenarios ahead, make sure your communications are ready and are right beside you when it matters. No flashy scripts, but concrete action with a feel for reputation, media and political forces.

We help draw up crisis plans, train spokespersons and sharply formulate messages under time pressure. And if things go wrong, we ensure that you can respond quickly and credibly to the press, politicians and stakeholders. With one goal: to restore calm and maintain your position.

Our approach is down-to-earth, quick and strategic. We don't take over, but stand beside you.

Do you want to know if your organization is crisis-proof? Or is the water already at your lips? In either case: Castro EU is here for you.

Case study: Uber in the right place, with the right story

In spring 2023, Uber asked us to help with a positioning campaign targeting EU stakeholders. Visibility focused around the Commission building, the European Parliament and at strategic locations in the EU district. Through outdoor advertising, targeted digital media and prominent placements in Politico Europe and The Parliament Magazine, among others, both major news media within Brussels, we demonstrated the benefits of platform companies.

The approach worked. Independent research showed that more than 75% of the target audience interacted with the campaign. Almost half of them reported a more positive image, especially in the areas of employment and flexibility. Especially among political professionals with influence on social policy, we saw a clear improvement in sentiment and brand recognition.
